ACCOMMODATION: Decorated with muted colors and natural desert textures that celebrate the spirit of the Southwest, the richly appointed one-bedroom suites at Pointe South Mountain Resort are so inviting, it's hard not to linger in our room and contemplate how to spend the day. In the living room of our suite, an executive work desk, fully stocked wet bar and refrigerator create a comfortable work environment where I can finish up on a few last-minute work details. Then, the spacious bedroom, with its hand-crafted armoire and dresser, offers striking panoramic views of Arizona's gorgeous sunsets. Maybe next time we'll check into one of the resort's concierge level suites or splurge on one of the 10 presidential suites or the West Pointe Penthouse, which also sound incredible."
All Guest Suites include: Air Conditioning/Heating with Individual Controls, Coffee Makers, Data Port Cable, Television, Two Telephones, In-Suite Movies, On-Command Videos, AM/FM Clock Radio, Hair Dryer, Mini-bar, Voice Messaging and Iron and Ironing Board. |
HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES: Clear blue skies and the Arizona sunshine make it nearly impossible not to want to enjoy the outdoors at Pointe South Mountain Resort, but there's so much to do at this 220-acre, all-suites property, we almost didn't know where to start. After hitting the links of Phantom Horse Golf course this morning, we decided to relax and unwind with a pampering massage in the Phantom Horse Athletic Club & Spa. Lounging by the pool, hitting the courts for a game of tennis, enjoying a horseback trail ride or taking a stroll through the resort's inviting Paseo area sounds like fun, too. Or maybe we'll just simply savor the beautiful surroundings of this Sonoran desert setting and do nothing at all." |
DININGS & BARS: With five restaurants to choose from without even having to leave the resort, whatever I'm craving is on the menu at Pointe South Mountain Resort. Yesterday, we were in the mood for authentic Mexican food and had the best mexican food we've ever had at Aunt Chilada's. We couldn't leave without sampling the Southwestern fare we'd heard so much about so we had breakfast at Phantom Horse Grill - their crunchy French toast is out of this world! That night we cut into a succulent steak at Rustler's Rooste in a true western setting right down to the sawdust on the floors! And, of course, we loved watching the sun set while sipping a Shark Attack at The Oasis Bar & Grill. The toughest decision we had to make all weekend was where to eat next!"
Chef Rafael Torres serves up delicious Mexican fare at this festive Mexican eatery voted #2 Mexican Restaurant in Phoenix by New Times 2003. Sip one of our famous margaritas or try one of over 120 tequilas while munching on homemade chips and Torres' award-winning salsa on the cantina patio or venture into the casita-style dining room for such zesty entrees as pechugas de pollo; smoked pork tomatillo; chicken, shrimp or beef fajitas or homemade tamales. Mariachis stroll throughout the restaurant on Friday and Saturday evenings to create an even more authentic Mexican atmosphere. Aunt Chilada's is open for lunch and dinner daily.
Celebrating the culinary spirit of the Southwest, this bright and airy eatery offers breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. On the Breakfast menu you will find everything you'd expect plus our own Southwest flair. For lunch, diners can opt to sample from the complete lunch buffet, or order such entrees as tortilla soup or the Phantom wrap from the menu. The dinner menu includes such specialty dishes as baked sea bass tostada, seared salmon Vera Cruz and five-color farfalle pasta. For health-conscious diners, there are also plenty of lighter items on the menu as well. The adjacent Sports Bar features satellite televisions, delicious appetizers, drinks and dancing.
Taste the best of Arizona for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Relax in the bright and airy dining room or outside on the terraces and enjoy a spectacular view of the Valley. Adjacent to the grill, The Sports Bar features satellite television, sports action, delicious appetizers and dancing.
Take a break from your day and enjoy the sounds of surf at the Oasis Bar & Grill, located inside Arizona's Ultimate Water Adventure. The Oasis Grill features tasy sandwiches, juicy burgers, fresh salads, great appetizers and our signature Typhoon - soft-serve ice cream blended with your favorite flavors. Overlooking our six-acre water wonderland, the circular open-air Oasis Bar offers a full menu of tropical blended drinks like the "Oasis Shark Attack" in addition to six draft beer selections and the most uplifting spirits.
Set on a mountaintop overlooking the Valley, this authentic Western steakhouse offers a fun, Old West atmosphere, complete with "Horny the Bull," a live steer who resides outside the eatery's old mineshaft. You can even opt to enter the dining room by sliding down a tin slide. While guests dine on mesquite-broiled steaks, meaty barbecued ribs, pork chops, chicken and award-winning chili, Old Charlie entertains with cowboy poetry. And, best of all, a homey apple pie or bread pudding make for a delicious dessert. After dinner, you can work off the calories dancing to the live country and Western music. Dinner is served nightly. |
MEETINGS & BANQUETS: We've never had a meeting go as smoothly as our company retreat at Pointe South Mountain Resort. With 115,000 square feet of meeting and function space, there's ideal venues for everything from small conferences to entire company gatherings. This morning, we broke into teams in several of the resort's 60 different meeting rooms, then later today everyone has the afternoon free to enjoy golf, tennis, swimming or a visit to the Phantom Horse Athletic Club & Spa. Tonight we'll all assemble again for cocktails in the Garden Veranda, followed by an elegant meal in the 20,000-square-foot Grande Ballroom. Best of all, the resort's attentive staff has been on hand to take care of everything--from A/V equipment rentals to planning the menu for tonight's dinner. With everything right at our fingertips, we never even need to leave the resort."
