The following is a selection of special events occurring in Madagascar in 2005:

Mar:    Alahamady Be (New Year celebrations).
Mar-Apr:    Internet Festival.
May:    Rice Harvest, throughout the country.

Jun:    Fisemana (ritual purification ceremony of the Antakarana people).
Jun-Sep:    Famadihana (turning of the bones festival).
Oct-Nov:    Madajazzcar (jazz festival).
